We are introducing market session-based trading hours for Traditional Finance (TradFi) perpetual contracts. This update aligns TradFi symbol trading with real-world market schedules, improving price accuracy and trading conditions.
What's Changing
1. Trading Hours by Market Session
TradFi symbols (e.g., stock and commodity perpetual contracts) will now follow designated trading sessions. Each symbol will have specific tradable sessions based on the underlying market — such as Regular, Pre-Market, After-Hours, and Overnight sessions.
- Note: Some TradFi symbols operate on a 24/7 trading calendar and will not be subject to market session restrictions.
- Crypto perpetual contracts are NOT affected and will continue to trade 24/7.
- You can view each symbol's trading hours via the new Trading Hours info sheet in the app.
2. What Happens During Non-Tradable Sessions
When a TradFi symbol's market session is closed:
- New orders (market, limit, and trigger orders) cannot be placed.
- Existing positions (including Copy Trading positions) cannot be closed or modified (including TP/SL, leverage, and margin adjustments).
- Trigger orders (TP/SL, price triggers, and time triggers) will not execute. Any trigger order scheduled to fire during a non-tradable session will be cancelled.
- Mark price will be frozen at the last available price until the market reopens.
- Funding rate will also be frozen at the last available rate until the market reopens.
Your existing positions will remain open and safe — they simply cannot be modified until trading resumes. However, existing pending orders created during a tradable session can still be cancelled during non-tradable sessions.
3. Funding Fee Settlement Policy
The funding fee settlement schedule for TradFi symbols will be adjusted as follows:
- If a funding period's settlement falls during an active (tradable) session → Settlement proceeds as normal.
- If a funding period's settlement falls during a non-tradable session → The settlement is skipped and postponed to the next valid settlement time that falls within a tradable session.
In other words, no funding fees will be settled while the market is closed. The funding rate calculation is also paused during non-tradable sessions to ensure fairness.
Boundary cases:
- If a funding fee settlement falls exactly at the beginning of a suspension period, it will still be settled (the suspension boundary is exclusive at the start).
- If a funding fee settlement falls exactly at the end of a suspension period (i.e., the first timestamp of the next tradable session), it will not be settled and will be postponed to the next valid settlement time.
4. Liquidation
Liquidations are not blocked during suspension periods. However, isolated-margin positions are not expected to be liquidated, since mark price is frozen during suspension periods.
How to Check Trading Hours
- Look for the market status badge on the order form, which shows whether a symbol is currently tradable.
- Tap to open the Trading Hours sheet for a full schedule of the symbol's trading sessions.
